Indian Team qualifies for quarter-finals of Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup; to face Netherlands on December 12
Indian men’s junior hockey team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after defeating Canada 10-1 in their final pool match. The team is set to face the Netherlands in their Quarterfinal game tomorrow.
India vs Canada Match Summary
India took a lead of 2-0 in the very first quarter of the game. In the second quarter, Canada’s Nicholas Jude scored the only goal for Canada to bridge the goal difference in the 20th minute. However, Amandeep Lakra scored a goal off a penalty corner in the 23rd minute to retain the two-goal lead. In the second half, India scored three goals in the third quarter, and four goals in the final quarter of the game, and marched into the quarter-finals with a dominating performance.

In the previous games, India won against Korea by 4-2 and faced a defeat from Spain by 1-4 in their pool stage games.
The Netherlands would be a tough opponent, as they enter the quarter-finals undefeated by defeating Great Britain 2-1, New Zealand by 3-1, and Argentina by 3-0 in their pool games.
