Mohan Yadav’s Day 1 in office: CM bans open sale of meat, loudspeakers beyond specified limits at religious places
Madhya Pradesh’s newly appointed Chief Minister Mohan Yadav issued orders on Wednesday banning the use of loudspeakers and DJs at religious gatherings that exceed prescribed time limits, along with prohibiting the sale of meat in open markets in urban areas.
The decision came soon after the oath-taking ceremony of Yadav, accompanied by his deputies Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda, after which he swiftly returned to Bhopal to oversee his inaugural Cabinet meeting.
In the cabinet meeting held just hours after assuming office, Yadav issued orders banning the use of loudspeakers and DJs at religious gatherings and public spaces if the volume exceeded specified limits. Simultaneously, he implemented a ban on open meat sales, proposing rules during the Cabinet meeting.
Addressing the press in Bhopal on Wednesday, CM Yadav stated, “Today we have taken several discussions during the first Cabinet meeting. We have raised the issue of meat sales in the open and have proposed to bring rules for this, in the Cabinet meeting today”, as ANI reported.

According to an official, guidelines were established for the use of loudspeakers based on the orders of the Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal, which were immediately issued for implementation. The official also mentioned that a flying squad would be constituted in each district to monitor the sound levels of loudspeakers and DJ systems playing music at religious places.
Regarding the implementation of the imposed ban, the Chief Minister further stated that a campaign would be undertaken by the food department, police, and local urban bodies to regulate the sale of meat and fish in open markets from December 15 to 31.

During an evening interaction with the media, Yadav expressed anticipation for the upcoming Ram Mandir consecration and recalled the hardships faced by “kar sevaks” at the UP border during the Ram Mandir movement. Yadav added,“The government will welcome all the Ram devotees in every district, who are enroute to the Ram mandir.”
Furthermore, the government deliberated on guidelines for cancelling bail granted by courts for serious and habitual criminals, as specified in Sections 437, 438, and 439 of the CrPC. They instructed the Superintendent of Police and District Prosecution Officers to conduct monthly reviews regarding actions taken against repeat offenders who commit crimes after being granted bail.
Yadav also mentioned plans to set up special colleges in every district following the New Education Policy, teaching various courses, and making it mandatory for all government and private colleges to upload degrees and mark-sheets on the DigiLocker app. The government also kept its promise by raising the price of tendu leaf bags to Rs 3,000, benefiting tribal communities.
