upGrad, a prominent player in the fields of learning, skilling and workforce development, has appointed Vishwanath Nair as the vice president – revenue for its international division, upGrad Abroad, effective December 2023. This addition aligns with the skilling giant’s expansion plans both in India and globally, according to an official release.

In his new capacity, Nair will spearhead efforts to identify new avenues for securing a dominant market share, overseeing the augmentation of enrollments for upGrad Abroad. Boasting more than 21 years of industry experience, Nair has a proven track record of driving sales growth in the ed-tech, banking, insurance and real estate sectors, the release mentioned.

Prior to joining upGrad, he held leadership positions at Whitehat Jr, where he managed markets in India, UK, ANZ and the Middle East, as well as at Meritnation and Talentedge (now part of upGrad).

Nair will be stationed at the Noida Club 125 office, leading teams in the Noida, Bangalore and Hyderabad regions. This appointment coincides with upGrad Abroad’s strategic leadership hires to accelerate operations, in line with upGrad’s overarching scalability plans. Notably, Ipshita Kajla has recently joined the vertical as head – human resources, taking charge of talent transformation initiatives, as per the release.
