University of Galway unveils ‘Global Achievement Scholarships’; aims to foster academic excellence
The University of Galway is introducing the ‘Global Achievement Scholarships 2024-2025,’ specifically tailored for undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies, as well as the College of Business, Public Policy and Law. These scholarships are designed to attract and support exceptionally talented individuals from across the globe, offering them a distinctive opportunity to pursue their academic ambitions in these particular fields at one of Ireland’s distinguished institutions, according to an official release.
Under this scholarship programme, eligible applicants seeking admission to these colleges will benefit from a €2,000 reduction in tuition fees for their first year of undergraduate study. No separate application is necessary, as all qualified candidates will automatically be considered based on their academic achievements and personal statement, the release mentioned.
To be eligible for this scholarship, successful candidates must be evaluated as international for fee purposes, self-funded and must have fulfilled the conditions outlined in their full-time undergraduate course offer letter from either the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies or the College of Business, Public Policy and Law. Additionally, they should have secured a place for full-time study at the University of Galway in an eligible programme starting in September, 2023 within the specified colleges, as per the release.
As part of this initiative, the University is dedicated to empowering students in these specific fields, facilitating access to quality education, and supporting them in making significant contributions to their respective areas of study.
“These scholarships aim to empower students, irrespective of their backgrounds, to unlock and realise their full potential within these specialised fields,” Anju Singh, senior regional manager, South Asia, University of Galway, said.
