India weather update: Dense fog engulfs North India; IMD predicts heavy rainfall in THESE Southern states – Check the forecast here

The chilling weather has been sending shivers down the people’s backs. As the winter season unfolds, temperatures in the north have sunk below zero degree Celsius in several areas.

The spell of dense fog continues to run over northern India.

A similar warning regarding dense fog has been issued for Tripura today.

Rainfall in Southern India

The IMD in its update said that light to moderate rainfall is expected at some to many places accompanied with isolated thunderstorm, lightning in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and Mahe between December 15 and 17.

It added that isolated heavy rainfall is expected over south Tamil Nadu on December 16 and 17 and over Kerala on December 17.

It further said that no significant change in Minimum Temperatures is likely over most parts of the country during the next 4-5 days.

New Delhi’s minimum temperature to hit 6°C

As per the predictions by the RWFC New Delhi, the maximum temperature in New Delhi today will be 24 degree Celsius, while the minimum the city could hit is 6 degree Celsius. At the time of writing this report, New Delhi’s temperature was hovering around 10 degree Celsius, while the people in Mumbai are enjoying 25 degree Celsius.

Over the next few days, New Delhi’s minimum temperature is expected to be in the range of 6-8 degree Celsius.
