Lok Sabha Security Attack Latest News: Four people have been detained after the massive security breach in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. One person was caught on camera jumping from the visitors’ gallery and opening the tear gas cannister inside the Lok Sabha. The House has been adjourned following the attack. Lawmakers coming outside Parliament spoke were seen coughing. All roads leading to Parliament have been cordoned off.

Tear gas consists of solid or liquid chemicals that irritate the eyes, lungs, skin, and throat. Despite its name, it is not a gas. It is usually within a spray or powder. It reacts with moisture to cause pain and irritation and mainly affects the moist areas of the body such as eyes, mouth, throat, and lungs.

How does the tear gas effect?
Exposure to tear gas can have effects on the human body. The immediate effects of tear gas on the eyes can be as follows:
watering, burning, and redness of the eyes
blurred vision
burning and irritation in the mouth and nose
difficulty swallowing
nausea and vomiting
difficulty breathing
coughing
wheezing
skin irritation
rashes
The effects of tear gas wear off in 15-20 minutes. Exposure to tear gas in large amounts can have major health effects which include glaucoma, blindness, chemical burns, and respiratory failure.
Immediate medical attention after exposure to tear gas is advisable as the effects of these chemicals can be serious.
The first and immediate action that can be taken is to get away from the tear gas, leave the building if they are indoors, get fresh air, and try finding a higher ground to stay above the chemicals.
Covering the mouth and nose with a clean cloth is another measure. Wearing glasses or dust masks can offer protection from harmful chemicals.
According to media reports, color bombs were used inside the parliament today by an intruder after the security breach.
