iQOO 12 may be the first smartphone in India with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but soon enough, competitors will swarm the market with their own phones with Qualcomm’s latest at the helm. One of those competitors will be OnePlus with its own take on the number “12”.

The most noticeable difference between iQOO’s phone and OnePlus’s will be the fact that while the OnePlus 12 is a “pro” in everything but in name, iQOO has a more powerful version of the iQOO 12 called the iQOO 12 Pro, which isn’t launching in India, at least at this point. And so, truth be told, it’s a bit unfair to compare the iQOO 11, iQOO’s second most powerful phone, with OnePlus’s top-shelf. We’re expecting a difference in pricing, too (the iQOO 12 probably will be cheaper).

The iQOO 12 has a trio of 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50H, 50-megapixel, and 64-megapixel sensors behind a 23mm wide (with optical image stabilisation), 150-dgree ultrawide, and 70mm periscope-style telephoto (for 3x optical and up to 100x digital zoom). The OnePlus 12 has a triple camera setup on the rear with a 50-megapixel main Sony LYT-808 sensor, 48-megapixel Sony IMX581 sensor behind an ultrawide lens and another 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor behind a 3x periscope telephoto lens.The OnePlus 12 has a 32-megapixel front camera while the iQOO 12 has a 16-megapixel.Both phones run Android 14 software.The OnePlus 12 is powered by a 5,400mAh battery and supports 100W fast wired and 50W wireless charging. The iQOO 12 on the other hand has a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast wired charging (no wireless).The OnePlus 12 uses faster USB Type-C 3.2. The iQOO 12 has version 2.0.Both phones have stereo speakers and no headphone jack.The iQOO 12 comes in a choice of 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB memory configurations at a price of CNY 3999 (roughly Rs 45,779), CNY 4299 (~Rs 49,213), and CNY 4699 (~Rs 53,792), respectively. The OnePlus 12 comes in a choice of 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB at a price of CNY 4,299 (roughly Rs 51,000), CNY 4,799 (roughly Rs 56,500) and CNY 5,299 (roughly Rs 62,500) respectively.
