India Weather Update: Delhi’s minimum temperature to hit 7 degree Celsius; IMD predicts dense fog over North India

As the winter season wraps itself around Northern India, the predictions from the Indian Meteorological Department promise a wave of cold halting over the region.

In their latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) have issued a dense fog warning for isolated pockets over north Punjab, north Haryana and north Uttar Pradesh between December 13 and 15.

Rainfall in Southern India

The IMD’s prediction shows that light to moderate rainfall is to be expected at some to many places with isolated thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds over Kerala and Mahe on December 16. The same has been predicted for Tamil Nadu on December 16. Isolated heavy rainfall is also very likely over south Tamil Nadu on December 16.

New Delhi’s maximum and minimum temperature

As per the predictions by the RWFC New Delhi, the maximum temperature in New Delhi today will be 25 degree Celsius, while the minimum the city could hit is 7 degree Celsius. At the time of writing this report, New Delhi’s temperature was hovering around 8.2 degree Celsius.

Over the next few days, the city’s minimum temperature is expected to be in the range of 6-8 degree Celsius.

The IMD said that “no significant change” in minimum temperatures is expected over most parts of India during the next 4-5 days.
